Service for Wauwatosa police officer

police officer service

On December 28th, Wisconsin Memorial Park had a large service for a young female officer from the Wauwatosa Police Department, who was killed in the line of duty on Christmas Eve.  In traditional police fashion, many officers attended the service in their dress blues.  There were approximately 1000 officers from around the state as well as Illinois, Minnesota and even a contingency from Canada!  The procession of squad cars was close to 300 with an additional 175 cars in civilian traffic.  The procession at the front gate was met by a large American flag hung from a ladder truck, flags that the park put up, and flags from a local “Fallen Heroes” lined the boulevard.  There was a 21 gun salute and the traditional flag folding ceremony as well.   I would like to give a shout out to the entire grounds crew at WMP for coming together and making this huge service go off without a hitch.
